The Beijing Health Inspection Institute said on Monday that it will review beauty parlors to crack down on their plastic-surgery services.
In China, only hospitals are allowed to perform plastic surgery or other interventional cosmetic service.
There are 230 institutions that are qualified to do plastic surgery in Beijing. This year, the city certified 908 plastic surgeons.
On Aug 20, the China Central Television reported that an underground beauty parlor in Beijing was offering botox injections.
Health authorities warn against getting plastic surgery in beauty parlors. One can call 12315 or 12320 if he or she finds a beauty parlor that is offering such treatment.
