Harsh penalty
Tourism agencies that coerce tourists into buying goods during a tour could face fines of up to 300,000 yuan ($49,000), according to China's first tourism law, which took effect on Oct 1. (chinanews.com)

An advertisement intended to promote animal protection has kicked up some dust at a subway station in the city of Chengdu, Southwest China's Sichuan province, by sort of comparing a dog to a security guard and saying, "Did you just eat a security guard?" (163.com)
