Forty-two people with an average age of 71 in Beijing have produced a short film that they funded, wrote, filmed, directed and acted in, Beijing Daily reported on Wednesday.
The 24-minute film, titled Old Age, was premiered on Tuesday in Beijing. It tells the story of an old man surnamed Zhang who accidentally meets his ex-wife who left him years earlier. Encouraged by his friends at his nursing home, Zhang recovers his enthusiasm and bravely invites his ex-wife to travel with him to a beach. The senior citizens had dreamed of making a film and wanted to recall their life in the past years.
After the first screening, the film was put online and had been watched more than 400,000 times from Tuesday to Wednesday.
