Nanjing mayor removed for disciplinary violations

BEIJING - Ji Jianye, mayor of Nanjing, Capital of east China's Jiangsu province, has been removed from his post for suspected serious disciplinary violations, Xinhua learned from authorities on Saturday.
The decision was made by the Organization Department of the Communist Party of China (CPC) Central Committee.
Ji was also deputy secretary of the Nanjing municipal committee of the CPC.
On Thursday, the CPC Central Commission for Discipline Inspection revealed that Ji was under investigation.
