A man smitten by a woman he had met just once decided to wait for her from 5 pm to 5:30 pm every Friday at the place where they had talked, Yangtze Evening News reported on Wednesday.

Yan Chuan, 26, works in Nanjing, capital of Jiangsu province, but it is not his hometown.

He said on an online post that he met a beautiful young woman on the way to the Purple Mountain Observatory in the early evening on Oct 18 when he rode his bicycle for exercise. He liked the woman very much and asked her for her contact details. The woman allowed him to use her mobile phone to dial his mobile phone, so he could get her number.

However, Yan found out later that the woman's phone number was not in his phone as he had dialed a wrong number because he was nervous.

The next day, he placed a notice with his phone number at the place where they met and posted it online in an attempt to get her attention.
