A man in Nanjing, Jiangsu province, was so focused on his cellphone he almost got run over by a train on Tuesday, causing a delay to the service.
The man, surnamed Zhang, was looking at his cellphone while crossing a railway line. Though the train's whistle was blown, Zhang did not notice it until the rail cars passed close to him. Totally startled, he fell to the ground with his hands pressed against his chest.
Zhang was not hurt but the train had to stop and was at the scene for 18 minutes. Many other trains in the region were also affected by the incident.
Local railway police are investigating the case.
