Coal mine explosion kills 6 in SW China

GUIYANG - Six people were confirmed dead and one injured after a coal mine gas blast on Saturday night in southwest China's Guizhou Province, local authorities said.
The accident occurred at about 11:50 p.m. at Hongxing Coal Mine in Pu'an county of Qianxinan prefecture, according to the county government.
The injured person has been rushed to a hospital.
An investigation into the cause of the blast is under way.
The Hongxing Coal Mine has an annual production capacity of 300,000 tonnes.
