A woman who aroused attention after she used the Red Cross name for a private company has begun work on a film about her life, Southern Metropolis Daily reported on Monday.
Guo Meimei, who was born in 1991 and grew up in Shenzhen, Guangdong province, incited controversy after she posted pictures online of her extravagant lifestyle and claimed to be general manager of a company called Red Cross Commerce, the report said.
Although the Red Cross denied any ties with Guo, its credibility was affected, the report said.
Guo told the paper the movie would portray her life from when she was 17 years old and explain why she used the Red Cross name.
"I have always dreamed of being an actress and some things in the past negatively affected me a lot. So someone suggested I make a film of myself and explain the 'mystery' of my previous life," the paper quoted Guo as saying.
According to the report, the film will be written and directed by Guo, who will play herself in the movie.
