Chinese vice premier pledges closer cooperation with Iran

BEIJING - Chinese Vice Premier Zhang Gaoli met with visiting Iranian Minister of Economic Affairs and Finance Ali Tayebnia in Beijing on Tuesday, vowing joint efforts to enhance cooperation in various areas, especially in finance.
Calling Iran an important partner, Zhang said China treasures its traditional friendship with Iran.
The two countries have witnessed sound growth of their ties, he said, citing frequent high-level exchanges, enhanced political mutual trust and substantial cooperation, increased trade volume and cultural exchanges.
"China is willing to make joint efforts with Iran to deepen our cooperation in diversified areas, especially in the financial area, to push forward continuous growth of China-Iran ties," he said.
Tayebnia said Iran attaches great importance to its relations with China, and hopes to strengthen cooperation in areas of economy, trade, energy, investment and infrastructure building.
