Mountain flash flood in SW China kills five

KUNMING - A flash flood in a city in Southwest China has killed five people and left another three missing, local authorities said Monday.
The incident happened at around 4:50 am Monday, when a flash flood struck Xiping village in Baoshan city, Yunnan province.
As of noon, rescuers had retrieved five bodies. One villager was injured, according to the local government. More than 300 rescuers are trying to find the three missing at the site.
Relief materials including quilts, blankets and tents have been sent to the village, the government said.
Most of Yunnan has entered its annual flood season.
