BEIJING -- The National Meteorological Center (NMC) on Monday warned of medium to severe smog in northern China in the coming days.
Starting from Tuesday morning, southern Beijing, western Tianjin and Hebei Province will be hit by severe smog, according to the NMC.
The NMC also observed that more areas in north China -- including the northern part of Huang-Huai and the Guanzhong region of Shaanxi Province -- will also experience the same poor air quality.
Meteorological conditions during that period are not favorable for the dissipation of airborne pollutants, the NMC said.
It is advised that people with respiratory issues should stay indoors or wear protective masks.
