Driver pulled out the bus safely before faint

A female driver pulled her bus to safety in seconds before fainting after the bus was hit by a recreational vehicle in Taiwan on the evening of Dec 20, Taiwan United Daily News reported on Thursday.

Wang Chunhua, a 34-year-old bus driver, suffered a heavy blow when her upper body, strapped down by her safety belt, was thrown out of the seat. But she persisted in gripping the steering wheel and managed to stop the bus. When she had almost passed out, she woke up with a start and pulled up the hand brake to bring the bus to safety.

After the accident, passengers and passers-by immediately helped rescue the driver. None of the 50 passengers on the bus was hurt.

A video which recorded the whole process was viewed more than 2.4 million times on youku.com, a popular video website. Many viewers said they were moved by the driver’s professionalism.
