Chinese ink-and-wash painter Wang Linxu believes artists today should pay more attention to the connection between nature and human destiny.

Wang, founder of the transcendental painting school, related how he explores the rules of nature in his art at a recent speech at Beijing’s Cultural Palace of Nationalists.

Wang hopes to create a spiritual universe with his abstract strokes, in which he searches for the infinity of nature. In his colorful paintings, he blends images of the real world with imagination to show the vibrant changes of consciousness.

Wang’s two transcendental works, Interactive World and Home of Us All, have been on permanent display since December at the China Lounge of the United Nations General Assembly Building in New York.
