French ensemble
Pygmalion, a French ensemble, under the direction of founder Raphael Pichon, will perform in the city at the opening ceremony of Festival Croisements, an annual celebration featuring Sino-French cultural exchanges. Pichon, 31, will lead the ensemble to perform works by Mozart.

Women in focus
Going to Baidi is an original theater production starring three actresses: Sun Ningfang of China, also the director of the play, Awesta Zarif from the United States and Rebecca Etebopinil Agbolosoo-mensah from Ghana. It will be staged in the city in Chinese and English. The play is about a woman desperately seeking an urban life to fulfill her dreams.

Swiss orchestra
Orchestre de la Suisse Romande will perform a concert under the baton of Osmo Vanska. The featured soloist will be violinist Renaud Capucon. Besides pieces by Debussy, Saint Saens and Ravel, the Swiss program features Prokofiev's Romeo and Juliet.

Soprano Huang
Soprano Huang Ying from Shanghai, who has been active on the world opera scene since 1995, is set to perform here. The concert includes not only popular arias from operas but also pieces from Europe and China.
