Broadway show

The award-winning Broadway musical My Fair Lady will make its debut in Beijing soon. Based on George Bernard Shaw's Pygmalion, with lyrics by Alan Jay Lerner and music by Frederick Loewe, the story revolves around Eliza Doolittle, a cockney flower girl who takes speech lessons from professor Henry Higgins, a phoneticist, so that she may pass as a lady.

German boy choir

The Windsbacher Knabenchor, a 70-member boy choir from Windsbach, Germany, returns to China. Founded in 1946, the choir visited the country in 2009 and 2012. During this tour, they will perform songs including Hey Jude, Letzte Rose and some Chinese pieces.

Finnish a cappella

The Finnish a cappella group Club for Five will perform programs including renditions of Sarah Vaughan's Don't Be on the Outside, David Bowie's Life On Mars, and Madonna's Vogue. Founded in Helsinki in 2001, the group is composed of five members, including soprano Maija Sariola, tenor Jouni Kannisto and baritone Juha Viitala, and has released seven albums and toured Europe and Asia.

Opera highlights

The Northern Kunqu Opera Troupe will tour Shanghai with four of its signature productions in May and June: Confucius Visit the Kingdom of Wei and The Peony Pavilion featuring young actors, A Dream of Red Mansions in two parts, and a concert of highlights.
