Elite French artists on show in Beijing

Monumental Inheritance, an exhibition now at the National Art Museum of China, shows 66 paintings and engravings by nine members of the prestigious Academy of Fine Arts, one of the five academies under the Institute of France.

The artworks on show examine the relationship between human and nature, and issues of development of human society, and display varieties of styles and artistic approaches.

Also on show is Green Energy, a triptych of Chu Teh-chun, a Chinese-French abstract painter who became the first Chinese to be elected a member of the French academy in 1997. The painting belongs to the collection of the National Art Museum of China.
