"The days of laojiao (re-education through labor) left a scar in my mom's heart. She became unwilling to meet people and loathed places with many people. When there is a visitor to her home, she hides in other rooms."

Guo Dajun, a graduate student at Beijing Institute of Technology from Lanzhou, Gansu province, talked about his mother, Zhao Fumei, who was sent for laojiao in November for petitioning. Zhao, who is in poor health, has been released.
