7.39 million people

The number of people were affected by natural disasters in China in January, according to a statement released on Tuesday by the Ministry of Civil Affairs. The disasters resulted in 47 deaths, the evacuation of 25,000 people and economic losses of 2.56 billion yuan ($410 million).
