Tiger adds to his schedule

Tiger Woods committed to play three tournaments in the next month ahead of the Masters, where the 14-time major champion will resume his pursuit of the all-time record 18 major titles won by Jack Nicklaus. World No 2 Woods announced on Tuesday on his website that he will play in next week's World Golf Championships Match Play Championship, the US PGA Honda Classic and next month's WGC Cadillac Championship at Doral.

He also shot 11-of-15 (73.3 percent) from the field.

New deal for 'King Felix'

Felix Hernandez and the Seattle Mariners have agreed on a new deal that is expected to make "King Felix" Major League Baseball's highest paid pitcher ever. Hernandez, 26, has two years and $40.5 million remaining on his current contract. The new agreement is worth a reported $175 million over seven years, or $25 million a year.

Pakistan close to IOC ban

Pakistan could soon join neighbor India as an Olympic outcast with the International Olympic Committee on Tuesday considering suspending the country over what it said was government interference. "We might soon consider a suspension as a protective measure," IOC spokesman Mark Adams said.
