The Beijing Waterworks Group will invest nearly 1.8 billion yuan ($290 million) in construction and renovation of water supply facilities this year, which will increase the water supply capacity of the capital by 180,000 cubic meters per day, according to a source with the waterworks. The move aims to meet the city's increasing demand for water, the waterworks said.
