Elections setto be called
Prime Minister Najib Razak dissolved Parliament on Wednesday to call for general elections. The polls will pit a coalition that has ruled for nearly 57 years against a resurgent opposition whose pledge to form a cleaner government has resonated with millions of citizens. The polls are widely expected within a month.

Suicide attack leaves 30 dead
Suicide bombers disguised as Afghan soldiers stormed their way into a courthouse on Wednesday in a failed attempt to free more than a dozen Taliban prisoners being held in the western province of Farah, provincial officials said. At least 21 civilians and nine attackers were reported killed in the fighting.
