The Ministry of Finance and the Ministry of Civil Affairs have allocated 220 million yuan ($35.5 million) in disaster relief subsidies to Sichuan, Yunnan and Gansu provinces, which have been severely hit by drought, according to a statement on the Civil Affairs Ministry website. More than 6.25 million hectares of cropland has been affected nationwide, with the three provinces being hardest hit, said the State Flood Control and Drought Relief Headquarters.
