"Unbelievable story. I think it's the story of the century. If you went back 10 years or whenever, and someone said that a 14-year-old would make the cut at the Masters, you would have laughed at the idea. Incredible story, incredible human being. The way he handled the penalty shot that was given to him (for slow play on Friday) was also unbelievable, so he's just a great, great kid and I've never seen anything like it. I think (when) people over there look at a 14 year old playing on the world stage, that's just going to open the floodgates. China is an emerging golf nation because of this young kid."

Ernie Els, South African professional, former world No 1

"It's great. It's amazing. I don't know what he shot today (Sunday). With his distance and how long this course is, I can't imagine some of the clubs he must have been using, so it's very impressive for him to make the cut."

Sergio Garcia, Spanish professional, former world No 2

"Well, I think it's a tremendous accomplishment to be here, and I think he's lapping it up and enjoying it. I mean, obviously, for a 14 year old to make the cut, I couldn't even do that in my dreams, I don't think. Amazing what he's done. I'm not sure what he shot today (Sunday), but good on him for being out here and doing as well as he has."

Luke Donald, English professional, former world No 1

"It's awesome. I heard leading up to the week that he didn't hit it (the ball) very far. I mean, at 14 you don't expect to hit it with Bubba (Watson) or anything. So I know he was kind of at a disadvantage on distance and stuff like that, so for him to go out and shoot the scores he did is pretty impressive."

Rickie Fowler, US professional

"Unbelievable. He's a great player. I mean, every shot he hit was almost at the pin and in the right spots. He could have holed a few more putts, but he didn't. But I was really impressed by his game. It was impressive to watch.

A lot of kids in China must watch and dream that they can be here, also. So I think it's really good for the game. There are more and more good golfers coming from Asia, so it's nice for the game."

Thorbjorn Olesen, Danish professional, who was paired with Guan on Saturday

"It's unbelievable. I don't think enough has been made of this story. When I was fourteen, I wasn't good enough to play in the Indiana Amateur, let alone the Masters and make the cut. It could be huge. You look at what Pak Se-ri did for Korean golf, plus K.J. Choi, Y.E. Yang and other guys playing here. Golf's growing around the world and that is where the growth is going to be. He seems an unbelievable kid with a good head on his shoulders, and obviously the future is really bright."

Bo Van Pelt, US professional

"At 14 years old I wasn't even dreaming of playing college golf, let alone professional golf. College golf wasn't even on my radar then. I was trying to break par consistently, which didn't happen. As an amateur it's great to experience the golf and the tournament. That whole experience was special. There's a really short list of guys who've been able to experience that, so it's going to be something he's going to remember for his entire life, that's for sure. It's unbelievable, the kid was hitting hybrid (clubs) practically into every par four. Obviously he's a great player. He probably has a lot of maturing to do, but everybody does at that age. It's just really impressive him coming here all the way from China and playing great golf, it's good for the sport."

Michael Thompson, US professional
