At least 238 pigs and 89 dogs died of an unknown cause on Monday in Dongtun village, in Yanshi, Henan province. Health authorities have ruled out an H7N9 avian flu virus infection. Many other animals, including cats, also died mysteriously. Some residents said that the cause might be poison gas leaking from a chemical factory, Dahe Daily reported on Tuesday.
