Drone gives image of caring technology

A drone that was used in relief work after the earthquake hit Sichuan province last month is displayed at the fair on Tuesday.

A drone that took part in relief work after a major earthquake is on display at the China International Fair for Trade in Services in Beijing.

High-resolution pictures taken by the drone after the magnitude-7 earthquake hit Lushan county, Sichuan province, last month helped pinpoint where relief efforts should be concentrated.

The drone will be one of the innovative works displayed by the China Aerospace Science & Industry Corp, which is taking part in the fair for the second time.

Also on display is an anti-forgery tax control system, which is the company's major project to protect the country's economic security.

Using advanced technologies in digital passwords and electronic information storage, the system can effectively prevent tax evasion and fraud.

The company will also display for the first time a vehicle network project that helps reduce traffic congestions.

Zhang Dongpu, deputy general manager of the company's aerospace and aviation technology operations, said that the network can monitor all the vehicles in a certain area, with the help of the homegrown Beidou Satellite navigation system.

As China's biggest manufacturer of guided missile equipment, the company has been leading the domestic military industry for years and has already spread its operations to civilian use, according to Zhao Xiaolong, the company's spokesman for the Beijing fair.

Zhao said that revenue from civilian use industries accounted for more than 70 percent of the company's total income. It is expected that international business will take 15 percent of its total revenue by 2015, up form 12 percent now.

The company is the only State-owned enterprise that is approved to be a co-organizer of the Beijing fair. It takes 80 square meters of exhibition place.
