"I strongly oppose the auction of letters between me, Qian Zhongshu and our daughter Qian Yuan by any company or individual without our permission. We have never authorized any company or individual to deal with or auction our letters."

Yang Jiang, a famous Chinese writer and the wife of famous scholar Qian Zhongshu, issued a statement on Sunday to oppose an auction of letters between her family members, which will be held on Monday morning by Poly International Auction Co. Yang also made a statement on May 26 to ask another auction company to halt a similar auction.
