Protect nation's civilized image

Comment on "China urges tourists to behave overseas" (China Daily, May 28)

I felt amazed reading the report. Not scribbling at tourist or historical sites, not littering, not trampling on lawns or flowers, and not creating a din or speaking loudly in public places are basic social norms that we abide by. Why do we need an official guideline to tell us to do so?

The authorities have urged Chinese tourists to behave properly at overseas tourist spots. How about telling them to behave equally properly at domestic sites?

China has been called a civilized country since ancient times, and Chinese people should behave in a civilized manner both at home and abroad.
