"All I want to say to my daughter is: Never go into politics."
Liu Zhijun, former railways minister, who went on trial on June 9 on charges of bribery and abuse of power, is quoted as saying in the latest issue of China Newsweek. This was the answer that Liu, behind bars, gave when asked by his lawyer, Qian Lieyang, whether he wanted to convey a message to his daughter. The court's judgment on Liu has yet to be announced.
