Policemen injured after hotel attack
Four police officers in Anyang, Henan province, suffered injuries after they were attacked while handling a dispute at a hotel on Wednesday, Anyang Evening News reported on Thursday. The manager of the Nanwanhu Hotel in the city called police to help deal with a dispute, involving money, between himself and several men. The injured were taken to a hospital. Police launched a manhunt for the attackers.

$260 million in fines misused
Supervision will be tightened over fines paid by families breaking the Family Planning policy after the top auditor found inconsistencies. The National Audit office found more than 1.6 billion yuan ($260 million) in fines, or social support fees, were inappropriately allocated from 2009-2012 in its probe of 45 counties in nine provinces and municipalities, The agency also found at least 319 million yuan in fines had not been handed over, according to the auditor's website.
