Million aging people
China's population of people aged 60 or older surpassed 194 million - 14.3 percent of the population - by the end of 2012 and will exceed 200 million this year, said Wang Suying, a senior Ministry of Civil Affairs official, at a recent forum in Tianjin. China has 45,000 elderly-care facilities, far fewer than the number needed, she said.
