Indoor children
Many children living in cities know very little about the natural world, only learning about insects, plants and animals from books and television.
This has become a common phenomenon in China, with children spending most of their time indoors – at home or in school.
Instead of hands-on experience, children are learning the names of trees, flowers and animals from books. Organizations such as Nature Fun are trying to encourage modern parents to get their children outside to learn about the natural world.
