"SHKP Vertical Run for Charity" organized by Sun Hung Kai Properties Limited will be bigger than ever in 2014, with two stops in Hong Kong and Shanghai. The Race to Shanghai’s IFC will be held on Oct 26 to raise funds for youth and child services. The seventh stop of the 2014 Vertical World Circuit, the race offers group and corporate relay, individual, and elite races for runners to challenge themselves by climbing 1,460 stairs. The general public is welcome to participate to experience the fun and joy of vertical running. Shanghai International Marathon on Nov 2
One of the biggest running events in China, the 2014 Shanghai International Marathon features a full 42.2-kilometer marathon, a 21km half-marathon, 10km fun run and 5km health run that will be held on the same day to cater to runners of all abilities. All of the races will start at Chen Yi Square on the Bund, with the full and half-marathons finishing at Shanghai Stadium in Xuhui district. The 10km run will end at Fuxing Park in Huangpu district, and the health run at Jing’an Sculpture Park. The main event will have a limit of 8,000 runners, with quotas of 10,000 for the half-marathon, 7,000 for the 10km race and 10,000 for the 5km run. It was fully booked hours after the registration channel opened in September.
