ThinkAdoption is different from other stray animal rescue organizations while it works with fashion brands, high-end events and celebrities.

Lau's social network is tightly connected to the fashion world, and he uses his high-profile connections to promote ThinkAdoption.

ThinkAdoption's WeChat platform has two regular sections, "Is there love in Shanghai?" and "Is there love in Beijing?" Each section lists information and photos of rescued stray animals waiting for adoption.

"I am using a more colorful and fashionable method to help stray animals by bringing them a brighter and more promising life," Lau says.

In order to help more stray animals especially cats get ready for adoption, Lau has one room in his apartment that acts as a temporary shelter for cats. He calls it Maison du Meow and he works with Paw Pals Animal Rescue to run it. Every week, about eight volunteers visit Lau's home and do shifts in order to take care of the kittens and cats.

"Getting along with animals has been a part of my life, which makes me happy. I truly want to share my love with more people by getting them loyal and lovable companions," says Karen Li, who has been a volunteer at Maison du Meow for three years.

In Li's mind, everyone can do his/her bit to help stray animals by either adopting the animals, or promoting the cause to others.

"Hopefully more people will choose to adopt stray animals instead of buying expensive and pedigreed pets. The animals on the street are dying to receive simple love," Li says.
