Michelin-starred chef René Bergès and his assistant, Alain Leloup, will present traditional and modern French cuisine at Justine's restaurant at the Jianguo Hotel Beijing from until Aug 9 in celebration of the 40th anniversary of China-EU diplomatic ties. Their residence at Justine’s began July 10.
Starting his career in 1963, Chef René Bergès worked in a Michelin-starred restaurant for 12 years and obtained one Michelin star. He’s also won many cooking contest awards.
Alain Leloup obtained an advanced diploma in culinary studies (NOTE: I think the word you want here is “studies” but let me know if that’s incorrect and we’ll fix it) when he was 16 years old. He owned the the "Gourmet Lorrain” restaurant from 1977 to 2002.
Alain Leloup is often invited to host gastronomy shows by TV and radio stations. He is also a committee member of the Association Sommeliers d’Europe.
