She has been skiing and snowboarding for years with her Canadian husband, who is a professional skier.
Lee says: "Usually skiwear is quite loose and square. Though we bring a little shape with the tight pants, it is still functional."
The brand-born in Chamonix, France-was founded by professional skier and filmmaker Thierry Donard. But the company is now run by Gottschalk, who is also an entrepreneur in the healthfood sector.
Explaining her focus on Asia, Gottschalk says she began exploring opportunities for the company in Asia after she and her family moved to Hong Kong from Europe.
As for how Lee got involved with the company, Gottschalk says she went to a Disney fashion show done by Lee after meeting the designer.
Recalling the fashion show, Gottschalk says that while she was quite "scared" of Mickey Mouse, she loved the colors and cuts at the show.
"It was obvious. The silhouettes and the cuts showed that she (Lee) had the design expertise of a high-end fashion designer. She also had the passion and the skillset. And she loved the sport. We knew then that we could do something special together."
Lee, whose eponymous label is known for its feminine, elegant style, also wanted to take up the challenge of sportswear design.
