When Spectre dominated Hong Kong box-office charts last November, a low-budget film surprisingly beat the remaining local rivals behind the James Bond smash hit.

Now the dark-horse feature, She Remembers, He Forgets, will be released across the Chinese mainland on March 10.

Sort of a coming-of-age romance, the tale centers on a married woman, mired in a mid-life malaise, trying to find her campus lover after a school reunion.

Jan Lamb, the Hong Kong singer-actor lead starring the movie, says his role (a designer who dreamed of being a football player) interprets the theme.

"(The tale) is about the process of chasing a juvenile dream. For most ordinary people, they may have no opportunity to realize their dreams, but it's important to keep hopes in life," he says.

Another highlight includes the protagonist actress, Miriam Yeung, the best-actress winner at the Hong Kong Film Awards in 2013.
