The moral decline of Chinese society is caused by an underdeveloped society. If the Chinese government wants to improve social morality, it must show more respect to society and actively promote its development, says an article in China Business News. Excerpt:
People attribute the food safety issue to the moral deterioration of society. A society without morality cannot have beautiful dreams. Morality is a valuable social asset and the foundation of economic prosperity.
Social morality is based on a healthy and fully developed society. Social morality can improve social operations and lower transaction costs. Without the support of social morality, all relevant parties will pay heavy costs.
The government should revere social traditions and customs, which have been formed over a long period of time. Meanwhile, the government should make it easier for social organizations and citizens to participate into the running of society.
China's rural communities are rich in social morality, assets and traditions, which have been damaged by some social movements and in the process of development. A society with rich moral assets must be an open and transparent one.
The new leadership of the Chinese government has put forward the new concept of the China Dream. The dream cannot be realized without a fully developed society.
