President Xi Jinping says Sino-Russian relations are the most important among the world's major powers, the first time a Chinese leader has defined these ties in this way. But China is also strengthening cooperation with the United States, according to an article in the 21st Century Business Herald.
Here is an excerpt:
Xi Jinping briefly expounded on the principles of constructing a new international order.
The first principle is that the affairs of one country should be decided by its own people, while the affairs of the world should be decided by all countries together.
The second is the equality principle. People from all countries, regardless of the nations' size, wealth and history, are equal in choosing the development path for their own nations.
The third principle is common development. In a globalized world, common development complies with the overall development trend of the world and is in the interests of everyone.
China and Russia abide by these three principles, laying a solid foundation for the two countries to construct these new-model ties among powers.
The two nations have become an important force in maintaining world peace and stability and promoting global governance.
