Olympic champion paddler Liu transfers to Wuhan with historic fee for CTTSL

BEIJING - China's table tennis Olympic champion Liu Shiwen will leave team Shanxi and join team Wuhan in the new season of the China Table Tennis Super League (CTTSL).
The move involved the highest-ever transfer fee of 6.966 million yuan ($1.05 million).
According to the rules of the CTTSL, the transfer fee cannot be over 7 million yuan.
The second-highest transfer fee was 6.0835 million yuan ($0.91 million) paid by team Shandong for Zhu Yuling.
Table tennis star Zhang Jike will skip the new season due to his physical condition.
The new season of the CTTSL will run from Oct 15 to Dec 31.
