The visa office of Nanning Wuxu airport’s public security department in the Guangxi Zhuang autonomous region started issuing arrival visas from May 6 after approval from the State Council.
The airport visa office started processing Taiwan residents’ entry applications from June 20, 2012. The office had been allowed to issue arrival visas temporarily during the annual China-ASEAN Expo several years before that.
According to the rules on arrival regarding visas for foreigners, the airport visa office can issue entry visas on arrival only when the applicants are invited for business affairs and emergency project maintenance among other legal purposes so long as they hold relevant documents issued by corresponding administration departments.
Tourist agencies can apply for group tour visas in the airport visa office according to China’s rules for organizing foreign tourists in groups for inbound tours.
The State Council’s approval means Wuxu airport will be able to handle arrival visa affairs throughout the year from May 6. It will be much more convenient for foreigners to come to Guangxi through the airport in the region’s capital city.
