Located in Li county, Aba prefecture, Sichuan province, Taoping Qiang village is regarded as the Mysterious Oriental Castle for its unique architecture and original characteristics. Most of the houses in the village are made of stones and connect each other by crisscrossed paths and roads, which make the village more cryptic. The entire village faces the water, with mountains surrounding it. In the village, there are many tall towers reaching toward the sky. They are made of dirt, stone and wood. All were kept intact even after the 2008 Wenchuan Earthquake. [Photo/China.org.cn] |
