At least 12 workers killed in traffic accident in Turkey

ANKARA - At least 12 workers were killed and eight others injured in a traffic accident in southwestern Turkey on Friday, private Hurriyet daily reported on its website.
A minibus carrying workers, who worked in an apple garden at Balkonak village in Yalvac town of Istarta province, turned over, killing at least 12 and injuring eight others, according to the report.
Ambulances and rescue crews were dispatched to the scene and an investigation into the accident was underway.
At least eight students from Suleyman Demirel University were killed and 19 others injured on Saturday as a passenger bus fell off from a 15-meter cliff near Karamik village of Cay town in Afyonkarahisar province in cental Turkey due to heavy rain, private Dogan news agency reported.
