HEFEI -- China and Singapore began a joint military drill in East China's Anhui province on Sunday.

Each of the two armies sent 70 soldiers for an eight-day combat mission in the mountainous environment, said a military source.

It is the first time the two armies organized a drill with conventional security missions, it added.
