A Chinese immigrant who was struck and killed by a subway train in the Bronx on Sunday was pushed onto the tracks, according to the New York Police Department.

Wai Kuen Kwok, 61, died when he was hit by a southbound D train on Sunday morning before 9 am.

The victim's wife screamed "Push!, Push!" in describing what happened, The New York Times reported.

The police have surveillance video of a man whom witnesses described as the attacker. He is believed to be a resident of the neighborhood near the 167th Street subway station where the tragedy unfolded.

The couple had been on their way to a Sunday breakfast in Chinatown.

The Times reported that the victim's 59-year-old wife, who was not injured, was taken to Bronx-Lebanon Hospital Center for observation.
