Honduras declares national emergency over Zika virus

Employees of the Ministry of Health of Honduras fumigate intercity buses to fight the mosquito Aedes aegypti, transmitter of Zika virus, dengue and chikungunya, in the city of Tegucigalpa, Honduras, on Feb 2, 2016. According to local press, the fumigation was carried out in order to prevent the Aedes aegypti mosquito can move to board on buses that will transport citizens from different regions to Tegucigalpa to visit the Basilica of Suyapa for the main feast of Our Lady of Suyapa on Feb 3. The Honduran Government declared the national emergency late Monday before the registered cases of Zika virus, about 1,200 only in January.
