Top DPRK leader congratulates President Xi on CPC anniversary

PYONGYANG - Top leader of the Democratic People's Republic of Korea (DPRK) Kim Jong-un on Thursday sent a congratulatory message to Chinese President Xi Jinping on the 95th anniversary of the founding of the Communist Party of China (CPC), the state media KCNA reported.
Kim said that the "CPC is conducting a vigorous struggle to strengthen the party, keep social stability, achieve sustainable development of economy and build a comprehensively well-off society."
He wished the Chinese people greater success in their efforts to build a socialism with Chinese characteristics and realizing prosperity of the Chinese nation under the leadership of the CPC.
"We have willingness to develop together with the Chinese comrades the DPRK-China friendship with long historical roots as required by the new century and thus promote socialist construction in both countries and defend peace and security in Northeast Asia," Kim said in the message.
July 1 marks the 95th anniversary of the founding of the CPC.
