LeEco rides into US with a self-driving car

It was a triple play for LeEco on Wednesday.

The Chinese tech company in San Francisco unveiled its self-driving electric vehicle, third-generation smartphone and connected TV to US consumers.

The car LeSEE Pro was transported to San Francisco from London during the shooting of Transformers 5.

The company said it combines "sophisticated design" and "high-performance handling" with such features as intelligent inductive charging, and machine-learning of facial, emotion, system and path recognition.

But the company did not disclose its price or say when it will hit the market.

LeEco also unveiled its new smart phone LePro3, with a starting price of $399, and introduced its flagship 85-inch flat TV uMax85 to the US market with a price of $4,999.

The Le Pro3's audio features include dual speakers, surround sound powered by Dolby Atmos and Continual Digital Lossless Audio technology. It boasts long-lasting performance thanks to a powerful Qualcomm Snapdragon 821 processor and a category leading 4070mAh battery, said the company.

The uMax85 features full-array, 448 Active Local Dimming Zones, HDR, Dolby Vision, Fluid Motion 1920 display technology and Harmon Kardon audio, according to the company.

Both products will go on sale on Nov 2 in LeEco's online store.

The company also is selling a smaller smartphone Le S3 at $249 and smaller TVs with screens ranging from 43 inches to 65 inches at prices from $649 to $1,399.

LeEco Super Bike, an Android smart bike equipped with laser lane markers, also was showcased during the event, which was called "Ignite the Eco World".

LeEco Founder and CEO Jia Yueting announced the "open ecosystem", which puts users at the center of the ecosystem with "disruptive" pricing that makes premium devices affordable to all, and a feedback process that helps to refine the experience and define future products and offerings.

He explained the so-called UP2U (User Planning to User) program as users are given a voice in how the ecosystem evolves, and the opportunity to co-create the experience and the next-generation of LeEco products.

"We have created a new business model that will lead the next era of technology - the ecosystem era," Jia told the more than 1,000 guests at the event.

"We are disrupting several categories and changing the paradigm by breaking down barriers and boundaries between industries and screens to create a better experience and more value for both individuals and industries," he added.
