The boy went missing after going swimming in the river, which is a newly filled water channel, in Zhongmou county. “There were two children, sharing a swimming ring, swimming next to me, and latter I heard someone shouting for help,” said Mr Li, a witness. At around 5:45 pm, more than 20 people set up a wall and held a thick string to look for the child, however, by 10:20 pm the child was still missing and search continued. The father of the boy, surnamed Tie, said, “the builder of the new river channel should set up warning signs to prevent people from entering the water.” [Photo/CFP]
