A hot pot banquet was organized by Huaxiyanwei, an official WeChat account belonging to West China Metropolis Daily, for fans at a ski resort on Chengdu Xiling Snow Mountain on Dec 16. It took them more than two hours to reach the destination, the Daily reported.
"Huaxiyanwei" chose the famous Chengdu Weishuwu hot pot, which has been ranked third in "top 10 Chengdu hot pots 2014".
"This was the first time that I cooked hot pot in the snow, the temperature was good for preserving the freshness," a staff member from Chengdu Weishuwu hot pot said.
"I thought cooking hot pot at such a high altitude won't work, but it was wonderful to eat in such beautiful surroundings," an Internet user said.
Around 1,000 "Huaxiyanwei" fans attended a tasting event at the first hot pot festival hosted by the West China Metropolis Daily in Sichuan province. "Huaxiyanwei" launched the event "eating hot pot in snow" to promote Chengdu's hot pot.
