BEIJING -- Three officials, from Anhui province and Xinjiang Uygur autonomous region, have been placed under investigation on suspicion of corruption, China's Supreme People's Procuratorate (SPP) said Thursday.

They are Cheng Xiaoxian, former deputy director of the standing committee of Bozhou City People's Congress in Anhui, Yang Delin, former deputy head of Anhui's education department, and Zang Xiaojun, former deputy director of Xinjiang regional civil air defence office.

Cheng and Yang have been arrested, and Zang has been placed under "coercive measures" which include summons by force, bail, residential surveillance, detention and arrest, the SPP said, adding investigation into the trio is currently under way.
